About the photo: Clarisse is a volunteer currently assigned as an English teacher and moderator of the school paper in Divine Child Academy, Lawaan, Eastern Samar. In a community where overseas work is seen as the only way out of poverty, Clarisse is teaching her students to dream of other possibilities.

For more than 30 years, Jesuit volunteers have been reaching out to deserving local institutions and communities in its continuing mission to help improve the lives of less fortunate Filipinos. Through the generous support of donations and grants, the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines Foundation, Inc. (JVPFI) has been able to continue working to bring the brightest and best of our youth closer to the least of our countrymen. How Your Participation Helps

It costs JVP Php 135,000 (about US$ 2,500)  per year to send one volunteer to the field. However, any amount has far reaching effects once combined with the pledges of others. This amount is used as follows:

            • Living Allowance 60,000.00
            • Training & Seminar Expenses 30,000.00
            • Transportation 10,000.00
            • Volunteer Support and Site Visits 10,000.00
            • Communications 6,000.00
            • Life and Accident Insurance 5,000.00
            • Program Administration 14,000 (less than 15% of total cost)

Sponsor-a-volunteer Program

An annual pledge of Php 100,000 ensures that one JVP volunteer is fully supported for one volunteer year. Likewise, the donor becomes part of the Sponsor-a-volunteer (SAV) program and will be informed about his/her volunteer’s efforts in the field. In this way, as a SAV patron, you directly participate in helping improve lives.

Our JVP volunteers make a difference everyday in the lives of many Filipinos who continue to mire in poverty due to the lack of basic social services. We invite you to share our hope and mission of service.
